X-ray uses ionizing radiation to produce images of the body's bones, joints, and lungs. The professional performing the test is a Radiographer or X-Ray Tech and all our technologists are members in good standing of the College of Medical Radiation Technologist of Ontario (CMRTO). All tests are reviewed and interpreted by a Radiologist.

 

Due to the fact that x-rays are ionizing, extreme care is made to ensure that only the body part requested by a physician, nurse practitioner or chiropractor is exposed. Lead shielding is used to protect other sensitive body parts from being exposed.  

 

X-ray services are offered at both Thunder Bay Medical Centre site and the 10th Ave location.​
